Position Summary
Work closely with the CFO in supporting company-wide accounting oversight through strategic reporting, data analysis, and process improvement. The Accounting Manager handles day-to-day accounting tasks, including managing the general ledger, preparing financial reports, and assisting with managing month-end and year-end close processes. This role ensures accurate recordkeeping, follows GAAP and FAR guidelines, and supports company procedures. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, collaborative, and thrives in a fast-paced environment with a passion for using data to drive decision-making.Key Responsibilities
- Oversee general ledger, financial reporting, and compliance.
- Manage accounting for Joint Ventures.
- Develop and update internal accounting policies and procedures
- Assist CFO with strategic financial planning.
- Train and mentor accounting staff.
- Assist with managing month-end and year-end close processes.
- Assists in the design and implementation of new processes and initiatives aimed at improving project accounting and reporting efficiency.
- Assist CFO in creating and tracking KPIs for the accounting department.
- Creates and refines custom reports and tools to support leadership in decision-making.
- Collaborates with operations and finance teams to develop and deliver training programs that enhance project financial management and reporting capabilities.
- Serves as a key resource for special projects and strategic initiatives.
- Provides direct support to the CFO on ad hoc requests, special analyses, and time-sensitive initiatives.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong interest in CFO-level responsibilities.
- Experience with construction cost accounting.

- Required advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Skilled at translating complex accounting concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.
- Preferred experience with Sage, Smartsheet {or equivalent ERP system).

- Ability to commute to office (required)
- Ability to relocate to Jacksonville, FL before starting work (required)
