Key Responsibilities
- Perform Structural Analysis and Design: Utilize applicable codes and standards to conduct structural analysis and design.
- Develop Technical Documents: Create layouts, calculations, drawings, and specifications.
- Lead Design Phases: Lead or support schematic and conceptual design phases.
- Review and Coordinate: Review shop drawings and coordinate with other disciplines.
- Project Leadership: Serve as lead or project engineer on assigned projects.
- Supervise Team Members: Supervise and guide Designers/Drafters as needed.
- Conduct Field Visits: Verify site conditions and measurements through field visits.
- Use Engineering Software: Employ software such as AutoCAD, Revit, RAM, etc., to produce design documents.
- Client Interaction: Participate in client meetings, proposals, and business development.
- Coordinate with Construction Teams: Work closely with construction teams on design-build projects.
- Prepare Technical Documentation: Organize and prepare technical documentation.
- Education: B.S. in Civil Engineering (required); M.S. preferred.
- License: Registered Professional Engineer in Florida (required).
- Experience: 10+ years in structural engineering; federal project experience preferred.
- Certifications: LEED AP BD+C is a plus.
- Software Proficiency: Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, RAM, Mathcad, Enercalc, Microsoft Office.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Leadership: Leadership and mentoring capabilities.
- Collaboration: Collaborative and client-focused mindset.
- Standards Familiarity: Familiarity with UFC and Whole Building Design Guide standards.
