Key Responsibilities

Following is a general list of tasks falling into the areas of responsibility of the Structural Engineer III.  It attempts to present a comprehensive, but not complete, listing of potential assignments that may be undertaken.
  • Perform structural analysis and design using applicable codes and standards.
  • Develop layouts, calculations, drawings, and specifications.
  • Lead or support schematic and conceptual design phases.
  • Review shop drawings and coordinate with other disciplines.
  • Serve as lead or project engineer on assigned projects.
  • Supervise and guide Designers/Drafters as needed.
  • Conduct field visits to verify site conditions and measurements.
  • Use engineering software (AutoCAD, Revit, RAM, etc.) to produce design documents.
  • Participate in client meetings, proposals, and business development.
  • Coordinate with construction teams on design-build projects.
  • Prepare and organize technical documentation.

Qualifications:
  • Education: B.S. in Civil Engineering (required); M.S. preferred
  • License: Registered Professional Engineer in Florida (required)
  • Experience: 10+ years in structural engineering; federal project experience preferred
  • Certifications: LEED AP BD+C a plus
  • Software: Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, RAM, Mathcad, Enercalc, Microsoft Office
